How this estimate works

The demo estimates usable roof percentage by property type, approximately 21 watts of panel capacity per usable square foot, 1,200 kWh of annual production per installed kW, and a $0.26/kWh illustrative blended DC residential electricity value. It caps savings below the entered bill to account for fixed utility charges. A final proposal must use the customer's actual Pepco rate and usage history. Shading, roof condition, orientation, usage, final design, interconnection, and utility rates can change the result.

A final proposal requires ownership verification, aerial analysis, roof and electrical review, actual usage history, utility approval, and final PPA terms. The estimate uses an illustrative $0.26/kWh blended DC residential electricity value; the customer's actual Pepco rate and bill history control. Customers continue to pay applicable Pepco charges and for electricity not offset by solar.

Under the advertised $0 PPA, Nextgen Solar LLC owns and maintains the solar system and receives all SRECs and any available system-owner tax benefits. The homeowner does not own the system, receives no SRECs, and cannot claim tax benefits associated with system ownership. There is no customer charge for solar installation, equipment, or solar electricity. Unusual homeowner-requested or homeowner-caused work, pre-existing roof or structural work, property transfer, early termination, or default situations are governed by the final agreement and may create separate costs.
